The vehicle bodywork is exposed to considerable loads while driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other. This causes the bodywork to twist and deform, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Bodywork flex while driving through bends can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps increase the rigidity of the front section of the bodywork.
