The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly pronounced due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
In certain cases, mass transfer when cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can result in considerable body twisting and deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The front strut brace helps further stiffen the body and limit its twisting during dynamic driving.
