The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When driving through a corner, the transfer of weight can cause up to three times more force to be exerted on one side of the vehicle than on the other. This causes significant twisting and deformation of the body, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting when driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The front strut brace helps connect the upper suspension mounting points, thereby reducing unwanted body twisting.
