The vehicle body is subjected to high loads during dynamic driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When driving through corners, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other side. This causes the body to twist and flex, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Body twisting when driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace, or strut bar, connects the upper strut mounting points and helps increase the rigidity of this section of the body.
The brace has 4 mounting points and is intended for Porsche Panamera (970) vehicles with a 3.6 V6 engine and four-wheel drive.
