The car body is subjected to significant loads during fast driving, especially due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause pronounced twisting and deformation of the body, resulting in a loss of tyre grip.
Body twisting and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace connects the mounting points in the engine bay and helps reduce body flex.
