A car’s bodywork is subjected to significant loads while driving, especially due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause the bodywork to bend and twist, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis bending and twisting while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The front strut brace connects the mounting points at the top of the front dampers and helps reduce torsional twisting of the bodywork.
