The car body is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident when the body’s weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When driving through corners, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can result in significant body flex and twisting, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex and twisting when driving through corners can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps connect the mounting points of the front struts and further limits body twisting.
