The car body is among the parts subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. During fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration, the loads are affected by the transfer of the body’s mass.
When cornering, the transfer of mass can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in the bending and twisting of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Bending and twisting of the chassis while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps connect the upper mounting points of the front suspension.
