When driving at speed, the vehicle body is exposed to high loads, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause significant twisting and bending of the body, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps connect the upper mounting points of the front suspension and increase the stiffness of this part of the body.
