The vehicle body is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or intense acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This results in significant deformation and twisting of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace connects the mounting points and helps increase the stiffness of the front part of the body.
