The car body is subjected to heavy loads during dynamic driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes body flex, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Body flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace connects the upper mounting points and helps reduce body flex.
