During fast driving, the vehicle body is subjected to high loads, mainly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This leads to body twisting and deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace increases the rigidity of the upper part of the body and helps limit its twisting.
