When driving through a corner, the transfer of weight to one side of the vehicle can create up to three times more force than on the other side. This causes significant deformation and twisting of the body, resulting in a loss of tyre grip.
Deformation and twisting of the body in corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
