The vehicle body is one of the parts subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This results in high loads on the body, as well as bending and twisting, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Bending and twisting of the body during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace is designed to provide additional reinforcement in this area of the body.
