The car body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is especially evident due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in significant deformation and twisting of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis through corners can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The brace helps increase the stiffness of the front part of the body, thereby improving the vehicle’s responsiveness.
