The vehicle body is exposed to high loads during fast driving, primarily due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This leads to pronounced twisting and bending of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Body twisting while driving through corners can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace connects the mounting points and helps limit such deformation of the front part of the body.
