A vehicle’s bodywork is one of its most heavily loaded components, as it is affected by weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When driving through a corner, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes the bodywork to twist and deform, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
