The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This results in greater deformation and twisting of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace helps increase the stiffness of the upper part of the body.
