The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer during cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes significant body twisting or deformation, resulting in a loss of tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
