The vehicle body is subjected to considerable loads during fast driving, heavy braking and acceleration, mainly due to the transfer of the vehicle’s weight.
When cornering quickly, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause the body to twist and bend, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Body twisting while driving through corners can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace connects the upper mounting points of the front dampers and helps increase the stiffness of this part of the body.
