The vehicle body is among the parts subjected to the greatest loads due to driving style. This is particularly evident from the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or intense acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in high loads, body flex and loss of tyre grip.
Chassis flex and deformation while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The strut brace connects the upper mounting points of the front dampers and helps increase the stiffness of the front section of the body.
