The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly pronounced due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This results in body twisting and bending and torsional deformation of the chassis, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace connects the upper mounting points of the front suspension and helps increase the rigidity of this part of the body.
- Design: front upper strut brace (strut bar)
- Number of mounting points: 2
Suitable for: BMW Z3 I (E36).
