A car’s body is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This can result in significant body twisting and bending, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis bending and twisting when cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The front upper strut brace connects the upper mounting points of the front dampers and helps increase the rigidity of this part of the body.
