The car body is the part that is subjected to the greatest stress during dynamic driving. This is particularly pronounced due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. The result is significant twisting and bending of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
Ultra Racing’s strut brace helps limit these effects and improve the rigidity of the front section of the body.
