The car body is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can result in greater body twisting and deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace connects the mounting points at the top of the front dampers and helps reduce body twisting.
The brace is designed for the Fiat Coupe model years 1993–2000 with a 2.0T 16V engine and 2WD.
