When driving quickly through corners, braking hard and accelerating, the vehicle body is subjected to significant loads. As weight is transferred, the body bends and twists.
In certain situations, weight transfer in a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater body twisting, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis bending and twisting when driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace connects the upper strut mounting points and helps increase the stiffness of this part of the body.
