The vehicle bodywork is subjected to the greatest loads while driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to loads up to three times greater than the other. This causes the bodywork to twist and flex, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis flex and twisting while driving through a corner can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace helps connect the upper strut mounting points and increase the rigidity of this part of the bodywork.
- Design: front upper strut brace (strut bar)
- Number of mounting points: 2
Suitable for: Ford Focus III (DYB).
