The vehicle body is one of the most heavily loaded parts of the vehicle, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This results in increased flexing and twisting of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Flexing and twisting of the chassis when cornering can result in poorer handling, such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace helps connect the upper strut mounting points, thereby increasing the stiffness of the front section of the body.
