The vehicle chassis is subjected to the greatest loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of the body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When driving through corners, one side of the vehicle can be subjected to loads up to three times greater than the other. This causes the body to twist and flex, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The upper strut brace helps increase the rigidity of the front section of the body and limit its twisting.
