The vehicle body is subjected to heavy loads during fast driving, hard braking and acceleration, mainly due to the transfer of body weight.
When driving through a corner, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This leads to the body bending and twisting, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Bending and twisting of the chassis in corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace connects the upper mounting points of the front dampers and helps increase the stiffness of this part of the body.
