The car body is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads during sporty driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in heavy loads on the body, causing it to twist and deform, which can lead to the tyres losing grip.
Body deformation and twisting when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The front upper strut brace helps reduce unwanted body movement and improve the stiffness of the front end of the vehicle.
