When cornering quickly, braking hard or accelerating sharply, the vehicle body is subjected to significant loads, mainly due to the transfer of the body’s weight.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause the body to twist and deform, resulting in a loss of tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The brace connects the upper mounting points of the front dampers and helps increase the stiffness of this part of the body.
