The car chassis is exposed to significant loads during fast driving, mainly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes the chassis or body to twist and flex, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace helps increase the stiffness of the front part of the body and limit its flexing.
