The vehicle body is subjected to heavy loads during fast cornering, hard braking and acceleration, mainly due to the transfer of body weight.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can lead to the body bending and twisting, consequently resulting in a loss of tyre grip.
Bending and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace helps connect the upper strut mounting points and increase the rigidity of this part of the body.
