The vehicle body is subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving, as its stiffness is affected by weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in body twisting or deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Body twisting during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace connects the upper mounting points and helps increase the stiffness of the front section of the body.
