The front upper strut brace connects the upper strut mounting points and helps reduce twisting of the front section of the chassis during dynamic driving.
During fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration, the vehicle chassis is subjected to high loads caused by the transfer of the body’s mass. When driving through a corner, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than the load on the other side, causing the chassis to bend and twist and consequently reducing tyre grip.
Chassis twisting when driving through a corner can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
