The vehicle body is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is mainly caused by the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in high loads, twisting and bending of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and deformation of the body when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The strut brace connects the upper mounting points of the front dampers and helps reduce unwanted body movement during dynamic driving.
