The car body is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This leads to significant twisting and bending of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace helps connect the upper mounting points of the front suspension, thereby limiting unwanted body movement.
