The car body is subjected to considerable loads during dynamic driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When driving through corners, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other. This causes the body to bend, twist and deform, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Body twisting when driving through corners can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace increases the stiffness of this section of the body and helps limit its twisting.
