During fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration, the car body is subjected to high loads due to weight transfer.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause forces on one side of the vehicle to be several times greater than on the other. This results in body twisting and bending, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting can also affect vehicle handling and cause understeer or oversteer. The front upper strut brace connects the upper mounting points of the front struts and helps increase the rigidity of this part of the body.
