The vehicle’s suspension and bodywork are subjected to high loads during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration due to the transfer of the vehicle’s mass.
When cornering, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other. This causes the bodywork to twist and deform, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Bodywork flex while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace additionally connects the upper strut mounting points and helps increase the rigidity of the front section of the bodywork.
