The vehicle body is subjected to considerable loads while driving, especially due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than the load on the other side. This causes the body to bend and twist, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex and twisting while cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The upper strut brace connects the upper mounting points of the front suspension and helps limit this movement of the body.
