The vehicle body is subjected to significant loads during fast driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes the body to twist and deform, resulting in reduced tyre grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace helps connect the upper mounting points of the front dampers, thereby reducing body flex.
