The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is especially noticeable due to the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or intensive acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. The result is significant twisting and bending of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and bending of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace connects the upper mounting points of the front dampers and helps reduce unwanted body flex.
- Design: front upper strut brace
- Number of mounting points: 2
