The vehicle chassis is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of weight can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This results in greater deformation and twisting of the chassis or body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace helps increase the stiffness of the front section of the body.
