The vehicle bodywork is subjected to significant loads during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration, mainly due to the transfer of the vehicle’s weight.
When driving through a corner, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other. This causes the bodywork to twist and deform, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Bodywork flex while driving through corners can negatively affect vehicle handling and cause understeer and oversteer.
