The car bodywork is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is especially evident due to the transfer of the bodywork’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes significant twisting and deformation of the bodywork, which can consequently lead to the tyres losing grip.
Deformation and chassis flex during cornering can cause unwanted driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The upper strut brace connects the mounting points of the front dampers and further reinforces the bodywork.
