The vehicle’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or intense acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. The result is greater loads on the chassis, body flex and loss of tyre grip.
Chassis flex and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace connects the upper mounting points of the front dampers and helps further reinforce the body around the suspension mounting area.
