The car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of the bodywork’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to as much as three times more force than the other. The result is significant deformation and twisting of the chassis, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. This front upper strut brace connects the mounting points at the top of the front suspension and helps reduce bodywork flex.
