The car body is subjected to the greatest loads during sporty driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, hard braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes significant deformation and twisting of the body, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis in corners can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace helps connect the upper mounting points of the front suspension and increase the stiffness of this part of the body.
